StandLock is free and open-source software. By using the app, visiting this website, or downloading anything from standlock.app, you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, stop using the app and leave the site.
Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using StandLock, or by accessing standlock.app, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or the website.
The app
StandLock is a macOS break reminder that locks your screen when it is time to stand up. It is free and open source, licensed under the MIT License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute it under the terms of that license.
The app may request the following macOS permissions:
- Accessibility — required for Strict mode screen locking
- Input Monitoring — used locally for idle detection
- Calendar — optional, read-only, used to defer breaks during meetings
These permissions are requested only when you enable the features that need them. No data leaves your device. You are responsible for granting or denying them as you see fit.
The website
standlock.app provides information about StandLock and links to download it from GitHub. The website and its content are provided for informational purposes only.
You may not scrape, mirror, or republish the website content in a way that misrepresents its origin. Linking to the site is fine.
Intellectual property
The StandLock app is licensed under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the software under the terms of that license.
The StandLock name, logo, and website content (excluding the open-source code) are the property of the author and are not covered by the MIT License. Do not use them in ways that suggest endorsement without permission.
Disclaimer of warranties
StandLock is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.
The author does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every macOS version or configuration. You use StandLock at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
In no event shall the author be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of or inability to use StandLock or the standlock.app website. This includes, without limitation, data loss, missed meetings, lost productivity, or any direct or indirect damages, even if advised of the possibility of such damage.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated at any time. Changes will be posted here with a new date. Continued use of the app or website after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
